That'd be kinda cool, but DVD 3D is never as good as theater 3D....DVD's usually just come with the annoying red and blue glasses

Wow, so the 3D hype has hit Japan, too? :lol:

Personally I'm not too excited about this. I really am not a fan of 3D--for me, I feel like it's easy to miss a lot of little details since you're so focused on the 3D aspects. If I have a choice to see a movie in 2D or 3D, I almost always go with 2D. But I guess it's still pretty cool! :'D

I'm a 2D person also. I wear glasses so it's annoying wearing 3D glasses on top of mine. Plus I also agree that I pay more attention to the story if it's in 2D than 3D.

But there is a new 3D technology which does not require you to wear glasses.
It's about the amount of blacks in the picture.
So the eye visualizes what it's seeing in ''3D.''
Just like what they did with the Coraline DVD.
I hopw it'll be like that on DVD.
But probably BluRay. :/

There is a way to get 3D on a normal TV, but it doesn't work very well. Simply having a better black level (contrast) unfortunately doesn't do it on its own. It's ... kinda of a way they "vibrate" the picture. The only other way that glasses-less 3D can be done is the way the Nintendo 3DS does it, which would work for a normal large TV... But only if you were able to sit in the 'sweet spot', otherwise it'll be a blurry mess.

I have Coraline in the Blu-Ray/DVD combo, and the way it does 3D is with red/blue glasses.

Has anyone seen what the new 3D TVs look like? I have no idea if they're any good or not, though I don't really like the idea of sitting in your front room wearing silly glasses if I'm honest! They're quite expensive as well so I won't be finding out any time soon!

From what I'm told, they're quite nice. But the problem is you still have to wear those glasses, and in the US, they are about $150 and up for ONE pair... Most TVs only come with one pair.

I already wear glasses. I'm ok to wait until they manage to make one that more then one person can watch, and doesn't need 3D glasses. ^_^
